Using Your Prepaid Visa or Mastercard Gift Card for Online Purchases

When shopping online with your prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift card, you may be asked to enter a billing address and/or billing zip code as part of online checkout. 

Here’s what to know:

• No Specific Registration: Prepaid gift cards are not registered to a specific name or billing address, so you can enter your own address.

For Online Purchases:

1. Enter Billing Address or Zip Code: 

• If prompted in online checkout, enter your physical home address (must be a valid U.S. address and not a P.O. box).
• If only a zip code is needed, enter your physical home zip code.

2. Declined Transactions: 

• As long as you entered a valid U.S. address, a declined transaction is likely not due to the billing address or zip code as a specific address is not required.
• Check the balance on your card to ensure you have enough funds for the transaction.
• If you entered a USPS zip code and you are seeing the incorrect zip code error, the merchant likely does not accept prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift cards as a valid form of payment. Contact the merchant to ask about their policy on prepaid card acceptance.
