When using your card at a gas station, we recommend never swiping your card at the pump. When doing so, a pre-authorization charge of, anywhere from $75-$200 will be charged to your card. To use your card at a gas station, simply pay at the cashier and request a specific amount to be charged to your card.
If your card was swiped at the pump and was successful, the pre-authorization charge will show on your card's transaction history until it has settled at the correct amount (typically within 3-7 business days).
Virtual Visa or Mastercard gift cards can not be used for purchases at a gas station.
