Tracking information may be available for physical gift card orders based on your selected shipping option. Here’s what you need to know about the delivery of both physical (or plastic) and digital (or virtual) gift cards.
For Physical or Plastic Gift Cards
Same-Day Shipping
Physical Visa and Mastercard gift cards are sent out via the selected shipping method (FedEx or USPS) when placing an order.
For FedEx:
- Same-day shipping is guaranteed for orders processed Monday through Friday before 7 PM EST and Saturday before 10 AM EST, except for major holidays.
For USPS:
- Same-day shipping is done for orders processed Monday through Friday before 4 PM EST, except for major holidays.
Tracking Your Order
For FedEx:
- If you selected FedEx 2-Day or Overnight shipping, a tracking number will be emailed to you for tracking on the FedEx website.
For USPS:
- If you selected USPS First-Class Mail, the delivery status will be displayed under the “Status” section.
- If the order status says Shipped, that means the order has left our facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It may be out for delivery because order status changes rely on the USPS scanning, which does not always happen.
- If the order status says Out for Delivery, the gift card is with the recipient’s local post office for delivery and should be delivered within 1-2 business days.
- USPS Disclaimers:
- Delivery updates come from USPS. First-class mail tracking is often not very accurate.

Per the USPS, orders sent via USPS should arrive within 5 business days from the ship date.
- However, please allow up to 10 business days for USPS delivery. Unfortunately, delays are common - and many of us have first-hand experience with USPS delays.
- If your physical/plastic card still has not arrived after 10 business days, please contact our support team with the order number and shipping address.
- If we refund a physical card and then it arrives, it cannot be reactivated.
Status of Digital or Virtual Gift Cards
Delivery of Digital Gift Cards
Visa, Mastercard, and merchant-specific (Target, Sephora, etc.) digital gift cards are typically sent via email within 15 minutes (7 days a week).
All orders require a review step, which may delay delivery for up to 4 hours.
- Email Check: If you’re expecting a digital gift card, look for an email from Gift Card Granny (notify@alerts.giftcardgranny.com). It may have landed in your spam or junk folder.
- Business Emails: If a digital gift card was sent to a business or company email address, it may have been blocked by that company’s spam filter. We recommend contacting the purchaser to change the recipient’s email to a personal one, such as gmail, yahoo, etc.
Digital Gift Card is Still Processing
Merchant digital gifts, as well as Visa and Mastercard digital gift cards are typically made available within 15 minutes.
However, some orders require a manual review, which may delay the ability to process and access them for up to 4 hours.
If you received a message that it is still processing, but the order was completed, we recommend you try to access the gift after 4 hours have passed.
