Using your gift card on Amazon

Have leftover funds on your Visa or Mastercard gift card? 

You can load the remaining balance directly onto your Amazon account — even small amounts. Amazon requires a minimum of $0.50 to reload.

Before you start, check your gift card balance so you know the exact amount to enter.

Steps to Load Your Balance onto Amazon

1. Go to Amazon's Reload Your Balance page.
2. Enter the amount from your gift card into the custom amount field.
3. Sign in to your Amazon account if you haven't already.
4. Enter the amount from the gift card in the custom “Other” field. It must be more than $0.50 and not exceed the card balance.
5. Purchase an Amazon Gift Card: Click Buy Now. You are essentially purchasing an Amazon gift card using your Visa/Mastercard gift card.
6. Add your gift card as a payment method. On the payment step, click "Add a credit or debit card" and enter your gift card details:
   1. 16-digit card number 
   2. Expiration date
   3. Your name and address 
7. Select your gift card as the payment method.
8. Review and place your order. Confirm the amount and click Place your order.
9. Confirmation. You'll receive a confirmation email from Amazon. Your reload balance should be updated within 5 minutes.
