Refunds for Returned or Canceled Purchases with Gift Cards

This answer is specific to prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift cards where the refund is going back to that original form of payment. 

• For a Visa or Mastercard gift card: 

  • If you’ve made a return or canceled a purchase using a Visa or Mastercard gift card, you are eligible for a refund as long as the gift card is still valid and in your possession. 
  • The funds never expire for a Visa or Mastercard gift card. If it is past the valid thru date on the card, you may need to get a new card issued. 

• For a merchant-specific gift card: 

  • Refunds for merchant-specific gift cards vary widely. Some merchants do store credit, and others issue refunds to another form of payment. Contact the merchant directly for their specific policies. 

• Refund Processing Time: 

  • Processing times can be long. It may take up to 15 business days for the refund to settle and appear on the prepaid gift card's balance.

Helpful Tips for Gift Card Refunds

• For a Gift Card in Your Possession: 
  • Credits for canceled or returned orders will be applied directly to your existing prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift card.

• Lost or Discarded Cards:
  • If you have discarded your physical or digital Prepaid Visa or Mastercard, a replacement card may be issued in some cases. (Refer to the Lost or Stolen Cards section for more details.)
  • If you’ve discarded a physical merchant-specific gift card, there is generally no recourse. However, you can contact the merchant for further assistance.
  • If you’ve discarded a digital merchant-specific gift card, you can contact Granny support and request that the original digital gift card link be resent.
