Why am I seeing this error?

This error means the phone number you entered is already linked to another account on the Gift Card Granny portal. This usually happens when you purchased the gift card with one email address but are now trying to redeem it using a different email address — your phone number got tied to your original buyer account at checkout.

The good news: you can fix this yourself in a few steps without needing to contact support.

How to Fix It

Follow these steps in order. The key is to create your account using the email you originally used to purchase the gift — not the email it was sent to.

Step 1 — Find your purchase email

Check your inbox for your original gift card order confirmation. The email it was sent from is the one you need — this is the email address your phone number is tied to.

Step 2 — Create or log in with your purchase email

Go to giftcardgranny.com and create a new account using your purchase email (or log in if you already have one). Do not use the email the gift was sent to at this stage.

Note: Using the email the gift was sent to will trigger the same error again. Always start with your purchase email.

Step 3 — Verify your purchase email

If this is a new account, check your purchase email inbox for a verification email from Gift Card Granny. Click the link inside to confirm your account before continuing.

Step 4 — Verify the email the gift was sent to

Once you're logged in, you'll be prompted to verify the email address the gift was sent to. Check that inbox and click the verification link — this is what connects the gift to your account.

Step 5 — Access your gift card

Once both emails are verified, your gift card will be ready to use. You may see a brief security check — this is automatic and typically takes just a few seconds.
