Troubleshooting Issues with Your Gift Card
If your Visa or Mastercard gift card isn’t working as expected, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Common Reasons Your Card May Not Work
- Physical Card Not Activated: Ensure your physical card has been activated. (Note: Virtual cards do not require activation.)
- Card Expired: Check the expiration date on your card.
- Invalid PIN: If your PIN is incorrect, you may need to manage it. [Learn more about managing your PIN here].
- Insufficient Funds: Make sure your card has enough funds to cover the purchase. Pre-authorization charges (common at restaurants, salons, hotels, and gas stations) can reduce the available balance. [Read useful tips for using your card with pre-authorization charges].
- Merchant Restrictions: Some merchants may not accept prepaid cards.
