Why is my gift card being declined?

Why was my transaction declined? Please keep in mind that there are some restrictions on your Visa and Mastercard, which are listed below. More info can also be found here.

Restrictions include:

1. Attempting to buy a gift card using your current gift card, as this is prohibited by most merchants.
2. Fuel purchases when the merchant requests a pre-authorization for an amount exceeding the card balance.
3. Tipping at businesses (e.g., restaurants, salons) when the pre-authorization amount is higher than the available card balance.
4. Any purchase if the merchant requests a pre-authorization exceeding the card balance.
5. Trying to use the card for cash access, ATM transactions, or money services like Venmo.
6. Incorrect PIN in a debit transaction.
7. Purchases or delivery addresses outside of the USA.
8. Using an incorrect PIN in a debit transaction.
9. Attempting to use the card outside of the USA.
10. Merchant decisions on transaction approvals, especially for online purchases.
